Opis produktu
Did you know that alpacas come in 22 different colors? Before the headband reached you, the soft fleece was hand-sorted by color for spinning.
We have selected for you 4 undyed natural shades: ecru, taupe, brown, and graphite. The yarn is reinforced with polyamide, and to ensure the headband stays in place, we added a touch of elastane.
Here it is — warm, cozy, natural, and finished with a classic knot.
Why you should own alpaca clothing:
Because it’s perfect for those who value naturalness and eco-friendliness — undyed alpaca wool retains all its natural properties and color, making garments not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly.
Other benefits include:
- Exceptional warmth — alpaca wool is known to be warmer than sheep's wool, providing excellent protection against cold, even in the harshest temperatures.
- Thermoregulatory properties — like merino wool, alpaca naturally regulates body temperature, offering comfort in varying weather conditions by preventing overheating on warm days and insulating warmth when it's cold.
- Hypoallergenic — undyed alpaca wool is lanolin-free, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin or allergies to other types of wool.
- Moisture-wicking — alpaca effectively absorbs moisture from the skin's surface, keeping you dry and comfortable.
- Lightweight and durable — alpaca garments are not only lightweight but also highly resistant to abrasion, ensuring lasting shape retention and durability.
- Odor-resistant — alpaca wool naturally resists absorbing odors, allowing for less frequent washing and prolonged freshness.
- Soft and pleasant to the touch — compared to traditional wool, alpaca is much smoother and more comfortable against the skin, providing a luxurious feel with every wear.
- Fire-resistant — similar to merino, alpaca wool naturally resists fire, enhancing safety during use.
How to care for your alpaca headband?
Taking care of your headband will ensure it lasts a very long time with you:
- Hand wash — it’s best to wash the headband by hand in lukewarm water using a gentle detergent designed for wool or delicate fabrics. Avoid vigorous scrubbing to prevent fiber damage.
- Avoid chlorine and bleach — these substances can permanently damage alpaca and polyamide fibers, so always choose detergents free from chlorine and bleach.
- Rinse thoroughly — rinse the headband well in lukewarm water to remove all detergent residue. You can add a small amount of wool conditioner in the final rinse to preserve fiber softness.
- Water removal — after rinsing, gently squeeze out excess water without twisting. You may also wrap the headband in a towel and press lightly to remove more moisture.
- Flat drying — lay the headband flat on a towel, preferably horizontally, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources. Drying flat prevents deformation and stretching.
- Ironing — if necessary, use a low-temperature iron with a steam function, ideally through a damp cloth to avoid fiber damage. Do not iron directly on dry fabric to prevent harm.
- Storage — once completely dry, store the headband in a dry place away from direct light to prevent color fading. To avoid creases, it’s best to keep it flat or gently rolled.
Remember that gentle care and avoiding intense rubbing or twisting are key to preserving the shape and qualities of your headband.
