Frequently asked questions

How quickly do you ship products?

Information about the shipping time is always shown on the page of the specific product. We try to keep to the deadlines stated there. Some products are made to order and are marked accordingly. In the event of a delay, we will contact you by e-mail or another way. We are not an Amazon warehouse, but we ship parcels at least 3–4 times a week. If quick handling is important to you, let us know.

Which hat size should I choose?

We don't give hat sizes in centimetres, because our hats are made of a highly elastic knit.

  • For children: go by the child's age, unless they are exceptionally tall or short – then it's worth checking how stretchy the material is in the product description.
  • For adults: our hats fit most people. If you have an exceptionally small or large head, the product features will tell you how much the hat stretches in centimetres.

Sizes of other products

For other products it's always worth checking the size chart in the product description or in a separate section. Our items are usually quite loose, so they adapt easily to the figure.

Product care

We encourage you to read the leaflet enclosed with every Merino and other knitwear product – this way the products will last as long as possible.

Matching colours and sets

If you want to create a single-colour set, it's best to choose products made from the same yarn, e.g. Merino. Then products with the same colour name always match each other. When selling sets, we make sure the shades are consistent, but different weaves may visually change the shade a little.
Example: when choosing a "three-in-one" hat, you can freely pick a scarf from the same yarn in the same colour – it will look like a matching set.

Why don't you state the weight (grammage) of knitted products?

Our products are made in a finished, fitted form – we don't sew them or cut the knit. In the case of Merino wool products, a hat or a snood comes off the machine as a finished item. That's why, instead of grammage, we suggest going by the product's thickness description.

Do you manufacture in Poland?

Yes, we are a family business and all our production takes place around Łódź. We usually ship parcels from Łódź too.

Can I collect the parcel in person?

We don't run a physical shop, but if it really matters to you, we can prepare a parcel for personal collection in Łódź, in the Julianów district. However, it is not possible to try the products on site.

Where do the materials used in production come from?

Merino wool, alpaca and yarn blends come from Italy. Cotton and bamboo knits we buy from a Polish manufacturer near Łódź.

What affects the price of a product?

The price of our products results from several basic elements:

  • material usage – different products require different amounts of yarn, and its price depends on the type and quality of the raw material,
  • wages – we include fair salaries for us and our employees,
  • taxes – the price includes, among others, VAT and income tax,
  • production costs – covering energy, machine maintenance, packaging and other necessary expenses,
  • the cost of an online presence – such as maintaining the online shop, IT systems, marketing and customer service,
  • packaging and shipping costs – part of these costs is covered by the shipping fee, the rest is included in the product price,
  • the cost of handling returns – fortunately we have few of them, but each such situation involves shipping costs, our time, packaging and sanitising the product.

We try to make our prices fair and transparent, so that each product reflects the real cost of its production – without artificially inflating prices and without marketing "tricks".

Will there be any discount or promotion soon?

We rarely run discounts and promotions, because we try to price our products fairly – so that they cover the cost of materials, our work and that of our employees, and the necessary marketing. We try to limit advertising expenses, so if you like our product, you can really help us by recommending us to friends or sharing our content on social media. Sometimes, when we manage to produce a larger batch of products or optimise the use of yarn, we lower their prices temporarily – we always announce this on the website or on our social channels.

So why do you have promotions sometimes then?

We try to make our prices as accessible as possible. Sometimes we manage to produce a larger quantity of a given product at a given time, and larger production allows us to reduce fixed costs. In such situations we can temporarily lower the price of a product for you – so that the offer is more attractive, without lowering quality or production standards.

How to care for merino?

We encourage you to read the leaflet enclosed with every Merino and other knitwear product – this way the products will last as long as possible.

How to put together a set?

If you want to create a single-colour set, it's best to choose products made from the same yarn, e.g. Merino. Then products with the same colour name always match each other. When selling sets, we make sure the shades are consistent, but different weaves may visually change the shade a little.

What certificates do you have?

All the materials and yarns we use hold the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 no. D11-0888 (Hohenstein HTTI). The certificate covers the yarn, not the finished product certificate. This is an international system that tests fabrics and yarns for the presence of harmful substances. The certificate guarantees that the material is safe for the skin – including that of children and infants – and that it contains no toxic dyes, pesticides or heavy metals.
You also often ask us about the RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certificate. This is a standard confirming that the wool comes from flocks managed with respect for animal welfare and environmental protection principles.
We have mixed feelings about this kind of certification. In practice, the farms that supply RWS Merino wool are often the same places (geographically – where the flock lives) that also produce wool without certification – because the certification itself is a costly process, available mainly to large producers. So it often comes down to an administrative fee rather than real changes in everyday farming practices.

Are you ecological?

We avoid greenwashing, but we try to act in an eco-friendly way. Among other things, that's why we chose paper as packaging – these are not specially printed boxes, just standard products from a Polish manufacturer. The wood used to produce them comes from renewable sources, protects our products well and looks aesthetic.
In our production we take care to minimise waste. Yarn is used down to the last little piece, and products are often made in a fitted form, that is, without material loss. We use fibre offcuts to create cushions or samples, and the boxes in which the yarn arrives we reuse many times.
Additionally, when we send smaller numbers of parcels, we carry them to the parcel locker ourselves – we don't order a courier for a single shipment. We also don't buy unnecessary items and we try to make full use of what we already have, without excessive use of resources.
To sum up, we try to use the things the earth gives us sensibly, and we believe that in this respect we are doing quite well.

Does Merino wool pill?

We have already come across various opinions and experiences regarding Merino wool—there really are many qualities on the market. However, our Merino wool is of very good quality, contains few short fibres, and therefore pills only minimally.

In practice this means that:

  • Most of our products with a smooth, fine weave practically don't pill.
  • The only exception may be items made from a looser weave, for example:
    • herringbone scarves,
    • fringed scarves,
which are fluffier and may naturally show slight, local pilling.

In such cases a good fabric shaver or a wool comb is enough, which quickly and safely remove the bobbles.

In sweaters, tops or jumpers made of our finely woven merino, pilling is really rare. It may appear only when the material rubs intensively against one point, e.g. a zip, Velcro, strong seams in a jacket – and this applies to practically every natural yarn.

To sum up:
Our Merino pills very rarely, and if it does, only slightly and mainly in models with a loose, fluffy weave. Pilling can be removed easily and quickly with a shaver or a comb.
